The Fugoo Tough Speaker is the top-of-the-line outdoor speaker and the price tag definitely reflects it. But this speaker is worth every penny if you are an outdoorsman or adventurer. The Fugoo Tough speaker is truly the king of outdoor speakers. At just 1.1 pounds, it doesn’t look like much, but the sound is extremely impressive. With six custom-designed acoustic drivers, all of which point in different directions, you get an awesome 360 degree range of great sound quality with great bass.

Small, light, portable and durable.

But people have made high-quality, compact speakers before. What impressed me most was the durability of the Fugoo Tough. This speaker is mud-proof, shock-proof, snow-proof, and waterproof (all of which I put to the test – except for snow, which is hard to find in Louisiana).

The actual speaker is the same for all models, but the Fugoo Tough is unique because of its shell. Crafted from fiber-reinforced resin and solid aluminum, this speaker could survive just about anything. I had the pleasure of putting it to the test on a kayaking trip down the Louisiana bayou and on a mountain miking trip.

For the kayaking trip, I used the multi-use clip and strap attachment to place the speaker on the front of my kayak, where we could all hear it and where it was completely exposed. It was sufficiently doused in water, dropped in the mud, sustained some pretty solid falls, and still provided our group with quality sound for the entire trip. With a 40 hour battery life, you’ll rarely need to worry about it dying. And as it’s rated to be dust-proof and waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, this is the perfect speaker for any water adventure.

Next, I hit the bike trail and strapped the Fugoo to the frame of my bike, which to my surprise stayed put during 2 hours of hard riding. The speaker didn’t move once and again survived any beatings I could give it. I even gave it some supplemental drops in the mud and hit with the hose. Still, the speaker kept on bumping my favorite tunes.

As a recreational outdoorsman, I go on tons of trips where weight, durability, battery life, and music are very important, and I have had several small outdoor speakers. But he Fugoo Tough takes the cake. You can connect with bluetooth or aux cord, charge it easily in the car or an outlet, and strap it just about anything. It also fits easily in a larger pocket or on the outside of a backpack. This speaker is one of the best pieces of outdoor equipment I have ever had the pleasure of using and if you love you music and your adventures, this speaker is worth every penny.
