Now that we’ve had a few days of warm sunshine, these snow mountain photos seem all the more majestic. Photos by Jen Baptist.

Jen is an environmental geologist and avid outdoors woman who can 100% claim she's from the "west coast". Born in Hollywood, California (please don't hold that against her, she really is a northwesterner at heart) she has lived in and explored the outdoors of southern/central/northern California, Oregon, and Alaska before settling in the Puget Sound Area three years ago. The outdoors bug bit her when she was living in the Tehachapi mountains of southern California. Her home was an 1800s stagecoach hotel/store converted into a single-family home on a small farm in Loraine (a town of 10 people) where she had three mountains, a creek junction, and rock outcrops perched high above the landscape to hike to after school. Those years planted the seed for a lifetime of outdoor adventures and a career as a geologist. It wasn't long after the digital camera boom that she started capturing the beauty of the world she experienced in photographs to share with others in photojournals and has recently even begun turning her hobby into a second profession. More of Jen's photographs can be found at www.JustJenuinePhotograhy.com and will soon be for purchase online. She is excited to share her 'jen'uine photos and stories (with a geological perspective) with her readers.
